The Fuck-Up

A mix of farce and melodrama that follows the titular f-up, this book is a wild ride with a rather sweet but melancholy conclusion. Though set in the 80s, it radiates Gen X slacker 90s culture, and it captures the spirit of downtown Manhattan (as well as some of Brooklyn) during that era. While not completely satisfying in its resolution, the novel takes you on an adventure of mistakes that sometimes makes you laugh and sometimes breaks your heart.
