Blade Breaker by Victoria Aveyard

5.0

I adore all of Victoria Aveyard's book and this one was no different. I love spending more time with all of the Companions and seeing Corayne's growth (as well as Andry's crush on her, and Dom's dedication to serving as chaperone/wet blanket). I also adore being inside Erida's head as a POV character; she is so captivating and I'm glad she's fictional.
However - there were like 3 missing chapters from the end of the book. Holy cliffhanger Batman - I know we expect them from Aveyard at this point but dangggg. I really wish there was more resolution.
Also - I still feel like there's no solid explanation for why What Waits wants to destroy everything. Sauron also didn't have clear motives besides "control everything" but if I were to say there is a weakness in this series, it would be that. I would LOVE a prequel about Taristan and how he came to align with What Waits.
