Master of Poisons by Andrea Hairston

5.0

Everything that this book is and represents is lovely. Although this book is slow when it comes to the reading, the outstanding level of detail presented to build the world, shape the characters, and tell the story is just breathtaking. The lessons in this book (I will not spoil them) apply to today's time and what is occurring in our society. I thought it was magical that the author tied in mythology and literary fantasy to allow her audience to learn so much; the stories and songs presented drew me in more and more. Hairston outdid herself with this book, and I am excited to read more.
