I enjoyed the meandering horror of the book (the house and its link to everything else) - but I found that it sometimes wandered into difficult-to-parse almost poetic passages. Some of these were pretty viscerally gross. I liked the metanarrative, but I had to wade through some ick to get there.
Nicky Endures’ narration is spot-on, sliding through a range of genders and moods for different characters, with a very occasional creepy touch of audio modulation. Their narration of the house is extremely eerie and kept me listening even through the gruesome stuff.
