While I enjoyed Kiss of the Selkie I definitely think it's the weakest of the Tessonja Odette tales I have read so far. Though even while not being my favourite tale, she still managages to write a interesting enough story to keep me reading.
I just struggled a bit with this stories pacing. It was quite slow compared to her other books and having only one POV to read from actually detracted from the story for me. I would have liked to see Dorians perspective and see his emotions develop alongside Maisies.
I will say Podaxis was great and I loved his and Maisies friendship. And seeing him slowly gain courage was a fun little background plot.
While still a good read overall, not the strongest of the series.
