I am not a fan of fantasy at all... I mean AT. ALL! But Sarah J. Maas has written my favorite series of all time! This was a 3.75 star read for me.
So why is the rating so low when I'm so in love with these books? This book sets up the entire world that SJM had created. It lays the foundation for everything we need to know. This is not the best book in the series. It's actually my least favorite of all of them, BUT the rest of the books wouldn't be as good as they are without the background this one provides.
Please don't be discouraged by this book and give up on the rest of them. I promise, they only get better from here!
