This book is about the colour blue. And anything and everything relating to it. If you don't want to read a book about the colour blue don't read this book.
I'm convinced people think this book is cool/trendy whatever because the author occasionally swears in the most distracting ways. Whenever I read those parts it took me out of the book instantly, and I can't find a reason as to why she added it apart from 'sounding cool/deep/edgy'.
Also Maggie Nelson uses the r slur for no reason.
However, this book was quite interesting at times, and now I have many facts about the history of blue floating around in my head. But not many, because it felt like as soon as a read one paragraph I completely forgot what I just read.
