The Lost Hero
by Rick Riordan
Initially I felt like this was far too long a book for how little was happening, but gosh did it pick up in the last third! The end of every chapter left me craving more.
However, whilst I loved being back in the PJO world, I did not feel the same connection with Jason, Piper and Leo as I did with Percy, Annabeth and Grover. That said, I really enjoyed how much character progression we got in just one book, especially Piper breaking the stereotype of the Aphrodite kids (her interaction with her mother was so interesting to see a different and deeper, more complex side to the Goddess of Love than we see in the original Percy Jackson series), and I can’t wait to see how much more they grow throughout the rest of the series.
Mostly I am just excited to (hopefully) be reunited with Percabeth in the next book!
