You Loves Ewe! by Cece Bell

4.0

Disclaimer: I am a huge nerd for homophones, so my review is a smidge biased.

Donkey and Yam are back and this time they are joined by Ewe, which causes all kinds of homonym-based confusion. When Yam introduces Ewe to Donkey, the misguided mammal hears "you" and the tuber spends the rest of the book trying to clarify what he meant. Then a ram joins the trio and all hope is lost! Just like "I Yam a Donkey!," this book is best as a read aloud and it will have kids (and adults) cracking up. Bell does an excellent job of teaching readers about homonyms in a humorous way, making this a wonderful classroom resource as well.
