A Tale for the Time Being by Ruth Ozeki

I like the concept of this book. I like how well researched it was, though the fact that it asserted that many worlds interpretation was the only valid interpretation of quantum mechanics did annoy me a bit. While I do enjoy magical realism I think perhaps I like it less when it pretends to have a strong scientific basis as it did here but that is a personal preference. The characters were interesting but also kind of one dimensional in that we don't really see growth as much as just get told that they change. It was an okay reading experience but not one where I was desperately turning pages or felt that I was reading something profound or able to change my perspective on things though certain passages were very well written and did manage to inspire emotion there were fewer than I would like and the plot was not enough to pull me through.
