I have been waiting for this romance since I read Liars, and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved these two fools even if I did want to knock their heads together a time or five.

Tucker Wright has been in love with his best friend Dunn Johnson for about 3 years. The problem is that Dunn is painfully straight so Tucker knows it's never going to happen and has reconciled himself with the fact that having Dunn as a best friend is better than not having him at all. But, when Dunn decides that it's his duty as Tucker's best best friend to find him a romantic partner, things get messy. Especially when Tucker's ex-boyfriend comes to town and Dunn is forced to confront the idea that maybe all those feelings he has for Tucker aren't quite as platonic as he thought.

So this is a Licking Thicket book, and if you've read and loved them you know what you're going to get. Is this a little over the top and a little bit ridiculous? Yes, absolutely. But, it's also so much fun. I love the secretly-pinning-for-the-clueless-best-friend trope so this was exactly what I wanted. Tucker is such a great character, and his struggle to set boundaries with the people he loves really resonated with me. And, Dunn is about the most lovable goofball that ever was. I really liked that once he recognized his feelings he was on all in. He didn't want to hide, and he wasn't ashamed. I also didn't really mind all the miscommunication because it really made sense for their characters. Tucker never expected in a million years that he could have Dunn, so of course he's going to go to the worst case scenario each time. And, while Dunn Johnson may be oblivious to the obvious stuff, his ability to see the the heart of things is really lovely. And, the way he thinks about and talks about Tucker? *swoon*

Three Thoughts:
1. Dunn's refusal to admit that Bernie is in fact a pet and not simply livestock will never not make me smile.
2. Carter playing matchmaker against his own better judgement was *chef's kiss*
3. Brooks having to constantly keep Malachi from calling Dunn and Tucker out was hilarious.

This is easily my favorite book in the series, and I'm glad that we are getting a spin-off with Carter. because the man has earned his own HEA. But, if I'm honest, I'd probably read just about anything this due writes.

content warnings: mention of an accidental public outing (in the past, not either mc), sex (on page), brief discussion of homophobia and biphobia
