Tana French is a brilliant writer. In her "Dublin Murder Squad" series, she is able to mix good pacing, pretty language, and interesting storylines. This first book to the series had me hooked, I'm working my way through the rest of the books right now (currently on The Secret Place).
Something I also appreciate about her writing is that she is able to release information to the reader at just the right times - she doesn't make you wait too long to find the next piece to the puzzle nor does she let it all out too soon so you've figured it out way before the ending. At the end, all pieces fit together and the reader is left feeling satisfied and unconfused. Clarity is key.
If you're a fan of Gillian Flynn (Gone Girl, Sharp Objects, etc), then these books are for you.
