The Gift of Fear: Survival Signals That Protect Us from Violence by Gavin de Becker

3.0

I’ve always heard rave reviews about this book so it’s been on my list to read for ages. Finally got a copy on the Libby app in audiobook form!

I enjoyed this book, but I felt like it was a lot of repetitive illustrative examples. Some parts also felt kind of “victim-blamey”, especially with victims of domestic violence, which I really didn’t like.

But overall, I think there was some good stuff in here. I think that a lot of people (women especially) ignore their intuition because they don’t want to be seen as bitchy, boring, or rude when we really SHOULD be listening to their intuition.

Maybe that’s why this book is so repetitive, to make sure it beats you over the head with this message lol

I would recommend this to everyone.
