I typically don’t go for historical fiction, but I’m really glad I ended up going for this one because I really enjoyed it!! I really loved the main character in this one and how her character was developed and also how her and her family’s magic was explored!! I would have actually loved to hear more about that, because I feel like we got a very pared-down version and I wanted more detail! The plot felt a little bit disjointed at times because I wasn’t sure that there was one main storyline throughout, but it still kept me on the edge of my seat and I was still incredibly invested in the story! I also thought the exploration of trauma in this book was really well done! If you’re a historical fiction reader, I think you’re really going to enjoy this one!
