Needing to Know for Sure: A Cbt-Based Guide to Overcoming Compulsive Checking and Reassurance Seeking by Sally M. Winston, Martin N. Seif

4.0

I read most of this book last year deep while in the throes of anxiety. Then I made an ambitious Goodreads goal and decided to finish this book this year. Haha. If you're an anxiety checker, this book is for you. There was lots of helpful information about why checking is bad and encouragement to stop.

I'm not rating this book five stars because I didn't love the organization of the book. There were a couple of parts at the end of the book that I felt the author should have included at the beginning. (Such as information about the benefits of uncertainty and a baby-step plan to quit checking/reassurance seeking.)

I also wish the author would have included some examples of people going through actual life problems. (i.e. Loss of a job or a serious illness.) From my memory, all of the examples were of people scared of theoretical problems. (i.e. Loved ones being hurt or accidentally hitting someone while driving.)

4 Stars.
