Black Leopard, Red Wolf by Marlon James

1.0

This is only the 3rd or 4th book I've ever shelved as dnf. It was part of a month long group read some artist friends were participating in, but I just found myself confused at first and then disturbed. Life is too short to expend energy on books that make reading feel like chores.

I do appreciate this author's use of mythology and the way the narrative is being told. The writing itself is objectively stellar. I am simply not this book's target audience.
