Fall of Giants
by Ken Follett
I thought this book was very, very good. Not only did it read very fast but it was very interesting. I felt like I learned a lot about World War I and at turns, Follett was able to create a war novel, a spy novel, as well as mixing in the social history. The characters are likeable and the narrative ties these people together in an interesting and cheeky way. I think I liked this novel better than Pillars of the Earth because of the era of which it is set. I am definitely looking forward to the next book.
