Saying Goodbye to Tuesday by Chrissie Manby
5.0
I wasn't sure about this one initially when I saw it in the library, but took it out anyway. I'm glad I did: it's a delightful, well-written story from the point of view of a dog who doesn't at first realize he's become a ghost, and about his efforts to support his hapless owner, with the aid of his frenemy, Caligula, the cat next door.
I'm not a dog person but I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's a lovely whimsical story with some genuinely funny bits in it. It manages to avoid being twee although the plotline is a predictable sort of romance, and it has that nice feelgood factor. If you want a nice, simple bit of enjoyable escapism, this is a good book to try.
