In "Francine's Spectacular Crash and Burn" we follow 25 year old Francine as she learns how to navigate her life after her mom suddenly dies. Francine finds herself feeling unmoored wanting to kill herself, until a random boy in foster care gets attached to her and ceases her suicidal plans.
Francine is messy and makes poor decisions because of her lack of self-esteem. Throughout the book, she becomes more confident while hanging out with Davie, and shows realistic growth by the end of the book. She still makes mistakes and doesn't trust herself fully, but takes it day by day.
Thank you NetGalley and Penguin Group Dutton for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for my honest review.
