I was selected as an ARC reader for this book.
This book had a DARK Beauty and the Beast vibe to me. Being pulled into a land the FMC did not recognize or understand, after she found her betrothed had been killed by the Unseelie King, and being forced to be the Unseelie Kings's 'prisoners' for 13 months all because of an ancestors deal from a long time ago - Brenna was obviously mad and trying to figure out how to handle her new life and her new house mates the Unseelie King and his Right Hand Man.. This book has darker themes and can test limits of some triggers if you have them.
This book kind of had my brain spinning. Some parts were kind of hard to follow and there are still some holes that were not addressed....meaning hopefully a book 2 will make its way out as well.
The FMC honestly annoyed me for the first half of the book, she was supposed to be a 150 year old half fae women, but at times she honestly reminded me of a teenager making it kind of annoying in my opinion.
I honestly was feeling this book was only going to be MAYBE 3 stars, but the last 15% of the book pushed it to 4 stars. It had an interesting plot twist I was not prepared for, which makes it that much better in my opinion.
Overall if book 2 makes an appearance I will be reading it.
