9/19 reread: I loved Furyborn just as much the second time around! I definitely caught on to more details since I knew where the first book ends, as well as just being able to absorb more with a reread. I'm excited to continue on to Kingsbane!
Furyborn is a fantastic start to the fantasy trilogy Empirium. I loved that the book tells us two interconnected stories of Rielle and Eliana, who live one thousand years apart. One of my favorite TV shows is Arrow, and I was happy to see Furyborn use a similar framework for telling the stories that are connected yet separated by time. The worldbuilding is intricate, and the plots are fast-paced and engaging. I listened to the audiobook, and the narrator did a wonderful job as well. I'm going to wait to continue with Kingsbane until closer to Furyborn 3's release. I am so excited to see what happens in the rest of the series!
