absolutely hated the protagonist. he is so unlikable. he's got the ugliest name ever. like how do u willingly name your own child 'leeds gabriel' absolutely not. red flag it felt so wrong reading this. i felt so dirty and uncomfortable. it goes against everything i believe in. this book is so morally incorrect. that being said, i couldn't put it down. i was pulled in from the very deranged first sentence.

even if everything is justifiable towards the end, there was still a moral line that was crossed.
i salute you, layla. if i were you, i would have thrown the whole man away, out into the atlantic ocean.

but i mean... it's kinda sophisticated how their love was able to transcend entirely different realms.
