Life's Too Short by Abby Jimenez

5.0

I absolutely loved Life's Too Short. Although, I shouldn't be surprised with Abby Jimenez's books.

Vanessa lives her life to the fullest. She has a large and successful Youtube following where she is able to document her life and all of her adventures as well as bring awareness. She is kind, passionate, relatable while possibly having a genetic disease that is unrelatable. Not only is she dealing with the very real genetic diseases she may be facing, she helps to take care of the damaged family she has left.

Adrian and Vanessa are neighbors and Adrian enters Vanessa's life by offering up his help. He helps Vanessa put her sister's baby, whom she left for Vanessa to care for, to sleep. Adrian has his own issues in life but he takes in Vanessa's warm, bright, and joyful life she has created for herself and begins to see his life brightening, too. Adrian is a fixer and definitely swoon worthy. These main characters are not perfect. They make mistakes and say the wrong things but they both have not had the easiest time in their lives.

I laughed, and cried, and laughed more. I loved everything about this book. The way Abby Jimenez tackles tough but real issues; incurable diseases, addiction, abandonment, grief, and is still able to bring so much happiness, humor, and love is truly amazing and necessary, especially in a time like this. All the stars. Just all of them.
