The Farm by Joanne Ramos

4.0

I had a difficult time choosing a rating for this novel. On the whole, I thought it was a thought-provoking, enthralling novel that discussed the ideas of fertility, class and race very thoroughly and effectively. However, I didn't think that it really hit the mark in terms of following the plot. The story was set-up to go in one direction but it never felt like there was any conclusion to the actual plot. It seemed like the original plot was discarded by the final few chapters and then the author began a new plot in the eleventh hour. Neither plot was completed. In spite of this, I did really enjoy reading this novel so I thought a 4-star rating was due!
