Princess in Pink by Meg Cabot

lighthearted fast-paced

2.0

mia is incredibly self involved and short sighted but what can you expect from a 15 year old. michael is an ass and mia praises him and falls all over herself when he does the bare minimum. the only black girl in this book is hypersexualized which is a CHOICE. lily seems to love to self destruct her life and when she actually is forced to deal with the consequences she just sits at home and cries to mia who won’t grow some ovaries and tell her friend like it is. then let’s get into the whole asperger’s situation and how a few choice ableist comments were made about that. then like a page later, she mentions how her bodyguard is a good marksman bc he trained with i*real. then it flips back to mia thinking she has asperger’s and diagnosing her friends. her grandmother, which we know is a shit person, misgenders her neighbor. that being said i want to read the next one bc hopefully that is the one where mia and michael break up and i can’t stand him. ik ik what happens at the end of the series but a girl can dream.
