Butcher & Blackbird by Brynne Weaver

Did not finish book. Stopped at 9%.
The beginning is ROUGH. Not because of the graphic detail of a body or murders but the writing. We're just plopped down into a scene with zero character development and we're expected to fall for the characters enough to continue into chapter 3. The beginning is basically "You're a serial killer? I'm a serial killer!" "She's hot but I can't say it." "He's hot but I can't say it."
