Retelling the classic story, translated and illustrated by Marcia Brown, Cinderella follows a kind girl, transformed into a mysterious princess at night to attend a magical ball. A prince, enamored with the princess, seeks her out by the little glass slipper she hurriedly left after escaping the ball at the toll of midnight.

Brown’s illustrations, seemingly done with pastels and ink, heavily feature the three primary colors in bright splotches of color. The images are whimsical and lively—a great match for the story!
