The Iron Daughter
by Julie Kagawa
Slightly (SLIGHTLY) better than the first. I can at least pretend that Meghan and Ash have known each other for more than a month so that their "undying love" makes more sense.
The thing that aggravates me about this book is that there's potential. I like the concept of the iron fey. But Meghan is just aggravatingly stupid, and the love triangle is typical and contrived. I don't believe in the love between her and Ash at all (I mean come on, they don't even KNOW EACH OTHER) and while it would make sense for Meghan to have feelings for Puck, I find his devotion to her aggravating and unrealistic as well. Love triangles are overused these days anyway, but if you're gonna do it, at least do it well.
Not sure if I'll read the last two in this series, but right now I'm feeling like no. I have no burning desire to find out what happens next, because it feels like I already know the ending to this story.
