Thirst for Salt by Madelaine Lucas
5.0
“You’re not very forgiving of those you love”
Deep, rich, heavily romanticized; I loved it. I started this as a library book and immediately had to order my own copy as I knew I wanted to write in it. The prose in this novel was beautiful. I was sucked into the story and relationship immediately. This book is about a relationship between a younger woman and older man, but also a mother and her daughter. This was intimate - I almost felt like I was intruding in these relationships as I was reading, and I felt myself relating to so much of Lucas’s writing. One of my top reads of 2023.
