L'amore che viene
by Lisa Kleypas
I think that here Kleypas does a really good job in portraying a married couple and the struggle of finding the right balance between individualism and being in a relationship with someone.
Really liked all the historical references to the Civil War. Very informative and never boring.
You can tell it’s her first novel, but I think 3 stars are deserved for her extraordinary capacity of keeping the reader hooked for the whole book.
- 2022 re-read.
Brought the stars to 4 because it was impossible to forget this book. I’ve been re-reading at least once a year because I enjoy the story and the characters too much.
Contrary to other Kleypas’ novels, there’s no real enemy here if not the struggles of a relationship, of having to adjust to each other and overcome the own individuality to reach a balance within and without.
Taking away the tropes of the romance novel and rendering him a bit more realistic, Heath is pretty much my ideal man.
