Without Merit
by Colleen Hoover
If you love domestic/family dramas and YA, this is a good book choice. (I wouldn’t classify it as romance).
The story follows the Voss family, told through Merit Voss. The book opens when Merit meets a guy, kisses him, then realizes he’s her twins new boyfriend (oops!). The story follows the next two weeks of Merit’s life (and by extension her family’s lives too).
It’s a beautiful story about reality and how we see what we want and live in our distorted perceptions. Merit slowly realized every “truth” she knew as fact was actually an assumption. There are twists and surprises in this family drama... a lovely reminder that we write the stories we tell ourselves...
