Finn Family Moomintroll by Tove Jansson

4.0

Obviously, this is a book aimed at children being read by a (nearly) 50-year-old man, but I enjoyed it immensely.

The characters are great, and with each book I read, I learn a little more about them, and underlying the simplicity is something a little deeper. There are shades of grey in Moomin books and, sometimes, a little hint of melancholy. But there are also little hints at how to deal with the melancholy. I wish I had children I could read these books to because I think it would be a delight.

I'd not read a single Tove Jansson book until this month. Now I've read three and they've all been a delight.
