This has been my favourite of the Throne of Glass series so far! There were so many stand out moments to me
- Aelin and Lysandra becoming friends, Arobynn's death, Aelin and Rowan exploring Rifthold, Lysandra vomiting all over Lorcan, Aedion and Aelin reuniting, Manon sending a message to Aelin, Kaltain's sacrifice, the king's death, Dorian and Manon's first meeting -
that it's going to be hard to topple. Aelin enters this series like a spitfire, and it's truly like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. I live for all of her drama, and I was so unbelievably excited about
the inevitable, but no less satisfying for it, death of Arobynn Hamel

One of my favourite themes throughout this book is the way that women help women - I love the enduring spirit of girlhood, and I live for it in all of its forms in this book. Lynsandra, Aelin, Asterin, Manon, Elide and Kaltain are all such vastly different representations of what it means to endure and survive as a woman, but all of them feel so, so authentic for it.

I am once again crying at the never-to-be love story that's unfolding between Chaol and Dorian - how is Aelin going to compare Chaol and Dorian to herself and Rowan, but it's still not those two that end up together?
