This book was beautifully written but honestly wasn't for me. I really need to stop trying to read literary fiction cause I don't think it's my kind of genre! I like to read for pleasure so the heavy themes of this book were not very fun to read about. That being said, I did appreciate getting to read from a unique perspective - I've never read any books about a gay Vietnamese boy before. Also, the book was pretty short which meant I didn't have to sit with the sad stuff for too long!
