The Crown of Embers by Rae Carson

This was so much better than the first book. I only read this one because a friend said it was a vast improvement from the winy heroine of the first title. And now, I'm invested enough in the characters to read the third book when I get a chance. Political intrigue, romance, and a magic-all elements I like. Enjoyment aside, it did feel like not much actually happened in this title, I look forward to some resolution in the last book.

Summary: Queen Elisa is still struggling to maintain power in her new kingdom. She is also continuing to learn about her Godstone's power. A dangerous quest is undertaken to find out even more.
