Lyrics of a Small Town
by Abbi Glines
I am a huge fan of Abbi Glines Rosemary Beach & Seabreeze series, so was very excited when she announced her newest small beach town romance book!
Lyrics of a Small Town follows Henley Warren, when the unexpected death of her Gran from COVID-19, brings her back to her mum's hometown on the beach coast of Alabama. Her Gran has left Henley her house for the Summer (which is a street away from the shore) & a list that her Gran requests Henley complete on her behalf.
As Henley works through her Gran's list of activities, she discovers her Gran wrote this list with meaning & leads her on the path of finding out who her father was. With an absent mother, Henley's Gran was her only close family so she is grateful her Gran gives her the secret opportunity to learn more about her father she never met & his family. On the way, a mysterious handsome boy keeps showing up; Saul.
Saul is a lost boy. Son of two wealthy parents who care more about their themselves than their son, he has found himself on his own for most of his life picking up other people's messes. The only person he hasn't had to look after is a stubborn independent girl he can't stay away from.
Henley & Saul connect emotionally & physically quite fast. They develop an addictive relationship, & find they have much more in common than they thought.
I did feel like the ending was not an ending. I still have many questions. Not just about how Saul & Henley end up in the future but about all the side characters including Emily, Drake & of course Rio. Abbi has announced she is thinking of writing more books in this world with these characters and I truly hope so I just feel like this story isn't finished & that is why I can't give it a full 5 stars.
4.5 / 5 stars with 3 / 5 steam.
