Was a little surprised to see this didn’t have higher reviews, as I really enjoyed it! There were twists I actually didn’t see coming which is always going to push a book to a higher rating in my opinion since it feels so rare for the genre.

I liked the way the book was divided into 3 distinct parts rather than switching from perspective to perspective. Getting the story first from Marissa and then from Kate was so interesting and well done in my opinion. Reframing the different interactions made me almost want to go back and reread Marissa’s section to see the signs I’d missed.

I agree the ending was maybe a little contrived, but I was happy with it. This was twisty, a little suspenseful, and well written, so it’s a 5 star read for me. It’s rare to find thrillers that are truly unique these days, and I believe this was.
