An insightful commentary on patriarchy and authoritarianism and religiosity. Written simply, with women debating whether to flee or leave, or stay, or right. Women talking through the night to decide their own fate, a truly revolutionary act in the community they belong to. The men are largely unseen except for the note taker, August, and an abusive husband who returns from the other city early.
