Giants is a modern take on the old monster sci-fi favourites. There's an emotional, rite of passage story which is ultimately about greed, power and the value of true friendships. The themes of guilt and redemption and being strong of mind are carried by bold yet sensitive characters. Giants is set in a vivid post apocalyptic future earth. Monsters thrive on the arctic surface and the humans have retreated underground where rival gangs are fighting to the death for power and control. The title not only refers to the surface dwelling monsters but is also a metaphor for rising above the anarchy, becoming more than a follower and exploring what could be possible.

Giants was originally a series of just 5 comics. For such a short run to pack so much in and grab your heart strings requires a fast moving pace, full on action and virtually nothing in terms of back stories. It does what it does exceptionally well but I want more light and shade and more character development because these characters deserve it.
