I was a little hooked in the beginning but it’s just so fucking boring. masterclass in telling not showing. so many plot holes. one star for the setting and the magic but even then nothing fucking happens. the romance is so forced, none of the characters have any depth. they’re so shallow and blah that things will happen and I just don’t give a fuck. the pacing is also really weird?? it’s suuuuuper slow but important events happen in two pages. the dialogue, the events, everything is just so stupid and juvenile. this isn’t an adult fantasy book.
