I don't know what exactly, but this book didn't hit quite the same as the first one. I still enjoyed it, sure, yet I also felt as if some things were a little repetitive. And it also felt like a couple things were changed from book 1: I was confused when I read about Pandora going to Reed's room for the first time, because I felt like she had done that in book 1? I did not go back and read to confirm. Same as her meeting the cats with Skel, I felt like she had done that before. (Also did not go back and confirm- they are just instances where it felt information was either repeated or changed timeline.)
What you expect to happen after the events at the end of book 1 happens. It is not a quick fix, and I do super appreciate that. I think I would have had a problem if things were forgiven and forgotten quickly, lol.
I am interested in the underlying dark magic plot, maybe more than the relationships occasionally. 🫣Pandora is having character growth, of course, it's the...groveling... that feels a bit... cheesy? at times? I don't know. Like I said, while the overall story is good, it's not hitting that same level of love as the first did for me.
And I may be in the minority of ARC readers, but the ending cliffhanger did not shock me. 😅
Also, I am fully expecting a side-story book about a couple certain characters now, please, thanks Lyra. 😁
