leslie feinberg thank you
edit: i was initially going to leave my review as a little one liner but i think that kinda betrays what this book meant to me. it's been almost 5 years since i first came to the realization that i am a lesbian. amongst many other things, stone butch blues was there at the beginning of my journey. it felt like being seen for the first time, like leslie took my face in their hands and showed me what possibility looked like. i hold so much reverance for those who came before me, who laid the foundation for us to continue fighting. it's a brutal read, to remember the horrors inflicted on my sisters and siblings, inflicted still to this day. but it's a history that we must reckon with. rest in peace leslie feinberg. i hope that one day you and our people are celebrated by society once more.
