Roz, former cop at the Met, is on her way to visit her daughter who is awaiting her first child. During the travel with the sleeper train, Roz and the other passengers getting to know each other. And no one knows yet that not everyone will make it to their destination alive.
"Murder on the christmas express" by Alexandra Benedict was truly a cover buy and I didn't regret it. The story is set in a train giving Agatha-Christie-vibes and the whole travel was an adventure for me and the characters.
Roz as the main character is loveable and challenging. She experienced a lot in her job at the Met and personally and could be described as a distant, but hard trying person. When the first passenger died she got back to her role as an investigator no matter of her private life.
The story is tense and every chapter was awaiting with a new twist. I must admit, that I didn't fall for every trap the author laid out but even I as an advanced thriller reader was caught off guard by the final.
I recommend this book not only for christmas, but especially when the jolly mood needs a darker touch!
