as it's a real mix of stories it's very hard to give a cover-all review, and if you could give a review that would suggest the stories were too homogenous anyway... a lot of the same sentiment coming out of these, but one or two real killers, particularly ann marie feld's. it is always heartwarming though to see so many movie-esque stories happening in the busyness of cities, and that the same feelings and endings do come up no matter where you are in the world. i would have loved to read more that felt unfinished, or like the author very clearly hadn't even fully understood their experience, as a lot of them are told from the perspective of years later, which can make the reader feel a little lost. i do enjoy the unapologetic approach though; each person gets to tell their story, choose their morals and highlight whatever they want without abridgement.
