I'm Still Here: Black Dignity in a World Made for Whiteness by Austin Channing Brown

5.0

Every now and then, I’ll come across a book that leaves me in tears. This is one of those books. Everything shared by Austin is a feeling/thought that I’ve had throughout my 30 years of life. Being called/treated less than, not only for being a woman, but being a black woman also.

I can only imagine the looks on the faces of the people Austin encounters when that realize that she is a black woman....not a white male.

This book speaks to the societal weaknesses that we have, and will continue to have until things change. Sometimes change feels so far away.
