The House Is on Fire by Rachel Beanland
5.0
Erk Larsen style historical fiction
I love meticulously researched accounts of historical catastrophes like this. Really compelling read though takes a few liberties in ascribing less than ethical behavior to real people. Were I descended from those families I'd be unhappy about that. Granted, she has solid reasons for questioning the likely biased nature of the written accounts. Men looking like heroes and women looking irrelevant.
