I loooove Ryan La Sala's horror, and this is no exception. Queer, tense, with cool, original concepts and a super eery quality, where evil isn't always evil and good isn't always good. There is no black and white here, not clear monster that has to be killed, and nothing is what it seems.

There are strong themes of art, ambition, aesthetic and self-perception in the book, which in my opinion fit super well together. But I'm also not a very "deep" reader, so who knows what I missed. For me the level was perfect.

The ending was bittersweet. I really liked the main characters and the cast of side characters was fascinating too. Also, the cover is to DIE for.
