I loved the use of the past and ancestry and how it informs the present. The mix of supernatural with realism was well-done. There were some parts of the book that dragged and/or were repetitive towards the middle. Because of its unique Eastern lens on life and family, I would recommend this book. It was refreshing to have this perspective as many popular books nowadays have a very Western/American worldview.
