There is a king of lightheartedness throughtout this book that Tolkien seems to inspire in me, whenever I read a new chapter. Something hopeful lights up in my heart with the poetic prose he wrote in every chapter, the loveable quirky characters of the hobbits, or the wise Gandalf with his little quotes. This is very much a book to lift my mood in moments of despair.
It's divided into two parts or "books," but even then, you don't want it to end and hope to get more out of the story you're reading. I was genuinely sad when Merry and Pippin's story came to an end for this book, and was quickly lit up with Frodo and Sam's, and the same happened when I finished this entire book. Excited for the next and last part
