The Greatcoats universe has to be one of my favorite fantasy universes and at this point Sebastian de Castell is an auto buy author. He makes amazing characters, and his stories make you want to laugh, cry, and shout all at once. The novel is a great mixture of character and plot. Our main character Damelas is loveable and brave and strong in his own way without being some weird overpowered protagonist. I even like the romances that the author creates.  The ending gives hope for the future even as our lovely actors head out into even more danger. I just hope Damelas doesn’t take as much of a beating as Falcio does in the original quartet. I’m about to go and preorder the next book, right now.
